David Roberts pastor" photo shows Nellie Beard, my grandmother, at right center, just below and to the left of a man who may be her brother. |
![]() Closeup of Nellie Beard from the previous photo. I estimate her age to be about 14, which would date the photo at 1905. |

![]() Not sure where this was taken, but it had to be about 1942, because Im the boy sitting front right. Right behind me is my uncle Freddie Beard. Nellie is kneeling on the left. Third from the left in the back is Donald, and Freddies wife Roberta. Emery Rhodes is standing on tip-toes in the back. 2nd from the right in back is Grampa Beard (Fred) and his brother Manley just to the left of him. In front of Manley is my mother Evelyn (I think), but it may be Ellen. |
![]() This appears to have been taken about 1945, probably in the Iowa City Park From the left, is Thelma, with hubby John Beard (with their two boys?). Behind and between is Grampa Fred Beard. On the far right is Donald Beard and wife Florence. Again, Emery Rhodes is tip-toes in the back. I think that may be Ellen Beard Rhodes with the white hat. No Smiths present... we lived in Illinois at that time. |
