I like old movies, and a like actors who can "make" a movie by their mere presence. I'm sure that any fan of old movies knows Raymond Massey, because he made movies over a 60-some years, often in starring roles, and because he had a striking appearance... quite tall with a look that could be quite intense or quietly dignified. Some of his more famed roles were as Abraham Lincoln, in "East of Eden", "The Fountainhead", and an early sci-fi "Things to Come". He also did a lot of television, most notably as Dr. Gillespie on the "Dr. Kildare" series. Massey came from a wealthy Canadian family famous for the manufacture of farm implements. Here is a good biography and a few photos from his movies.
