RICHFIELD JOURNAL
Richfield, MN has, since WWII, been a working-class suburb of Minneapolis, with several areas of inexpensive apartments. As such is has been a good area for immigrants and those poorer citizens escaping from the inner city to move to. Recently, Richfield city officials have tried to "upgrade" numerous sections, meaning using the threat of eminent domain to destroy small business and modest homes in favor of developments that will presumably increase city tax revenues. Many former citizens have been sacrificed thus, and Richfield is losing it's traditional character. This Journal will record some remaining areas before they too disappear.
