Over my lifetime I've watched healthcare become quite improved scientifically, but the distance between patients and providers has increased dramatically. Thanks to government intervention, large corporations now dominate health care, and bureaucracy has driven costs through the roof. Again due to government intervention, dependence on group health insurance has separated costs from care. Now, millions of American workers pay hundreds of dollars in monthly health care premiums whether they use services or not, and paperwork pushes costs up continually.
