Are we starting to win?
Maybe it's just my natural optimism, but I seem to be noticing a trend moving us in the direction of more liberty, or at least a trend that more people are paying attention. Last week, the Pioneer Press hired a libertarian editorial columnist. At No Force, No Fraud, I've written about eminent domain abuse being reversed. Add on that recent polls have shown that still more people are realizing that our Iraq escapade was stupid to begin with.

On my home page, be sure to check out the Jeff Johnson poster (see Reality of War). Like all great posters, it's effective because it's simple. It represents a different representation of my "cemetery"... another way of making the numbers of war seem more real.

Wha hoppen to summer?
This was the week that went weird... a quick trip to Iowa, a party problem, unusually cool weather, the Twins losing twice to Seattle while my daughter was visiting from there, and, of course, weird war news as usual... winning battles and losing the war. Combined, enough to take me out of my comfy routine and bring my productivity to a near-halt.

I certainly didn't mind my daughter's visit, though, and a couple of Twins losses are no big thing, given baseball's long season and the fact that even in losing, the Twins are still good baseball watching... and it was "all better" this afternoon with the Twins winning, two 2-run homers by Justine That-kid's-a-slugger Morneau and the usual impressive pitching by Santana. Hard to understand how Seattle can be 21 games behind Oakland.

So... a weird week with little personal accomplishment. Guess you have to have one once in a while. I hope it's only occasional. I sure feel better when I'm getting a lot accomplished. I did take a couple of walks today, and didn't fall down once... so it could have been worse.

Lotsa good news!
Sometimes it's seems as if I'm only relaying bad news, but not today. Where to start?

Eminent domain reversals... 3 in Michigan, including a huge reversal of the "Infamous Poletown decision", and a victory just last night at the Edina City Council meeting (check No Force on Friday for more).

On a fun level, the Twins are kicking butt these days, by just doing everything right... good pitching, good defense, and timely hitting. Last night's game against the Anaheim Angels was a great example: 6 double-plays and 4 home runs, to put together a 10-0 shutout even though the Angels got 11 hits. That's great baseball!

On a personal level... sometime this week, No Force, No Fraud will accumulate the 100,000th reader, in a little over 15 months.
