I had removed the Iraqi civilian casualty cemetery because it got too large, but I recreated it on a separate page because others thought it was too effective to lose.

I think we can be fairly certain that if another nation did what the U.S. has done in Iraq... with 5,570 civilian casualties... that we would be calling it "ethnic cleansing" rather than "liberation". Monday, June 16, 2003

The counts of both coalition casualties and Iraqi civilian casualties took a jump today. If you're not reading No Force, No Fraud, you're missing an exciting trip into game theory, and pretty solid evidence that the libertarian ideology is as efficacious as we've been claiming. Ten American soldiers have been killed in ambushes across Iraq in the past 15 days. Imagine what it would be like if Bush hadn't declared the war over and won. Tuesday, June 10, 2003

Even though the number of war casualties is reducing, deaths resulting from the destruction of the infrastructure of Iraq are not. The 12 years of bombing, and the U.S.-enforced sanctions have devastated the health of many Iraqis. Twelve years ago, the primary health concern with Iraqi children was obesity. Bombing and sanctions eliminated that problem and replaced it with malnourishment. The World Food Programme said that, before the US-led invasion, one-million Iraqi children had been malnourished as a result of diarrhoea. There are estimates that 500,000 Iraqi children were killed as a result of the U.S. sanctions. To repeat what I placed on my front page "Reality of War"... Cholera, dysentery and typhoid was 2.5 times higher this May than for the same month last year. "There are 500 breaks in Baghdad's water system alone that lead to contamination with sewage," Friday, June 06, 2003

Why in the world is everyone being so damned polite about the failure of this administration's WAR? Everyone is asking polite questions that are completely beside the point. "Why haven't weapons of mass destruction been found?" "How could the intelligence have been so wrong?" "Shouldn't we have an investigation?" "Shouldn't the President want an investigation?" I can see but two possible, relevant truths: 1. The administration lied through their collective teeth to justify invading Iraq, or... 2. The administration is impossibly incompetent. Take your pick... in either case, the world should be thoroughly pissed, and any semblance of respect for our government, including Congress, should be gone. How can so many know so little? Coin-flipping would have given better results. Billions of dollars, spent by huge agencies, with thousands of supposed experts, and everything we were told was wrong. If a private citizen tried to use the sort of fantasies we've heard... as a defense for his actions, he'd find himself locked in a looney bin. Thursday, June 05, 2003

Even though the war is "over", the victory was "won", deaths of both Iraqi civilians and coalition troops continue to rise. Today, 5 more coalition soldiers and 101 Iraqi civilians. Wednesday, June 04, 2003

Testifying before a House subcommittee, Surgeon General Richard Carmona said, "I see no need for any tobacco products in society." In response, Bob Smith responded, "I see no need for a Surgeon General" Monday, June 02, 2003

Small increase to the Iraqi civilian casualty count... just 2 more PEOPLE "liberated". Extra-large quote from Mencken added. The graphics guy in me hates the spacing it causes, but the quote is about as concise as possible at describing the American political system, and it describes it perfectly. Alexa ratings of liberty-oriented sites is also updated today. Oh yeah... new comments at my No Force, No Fraud blog.
